Spicy, but not too warm, fresh, but not too cool, and bursting with flavour. This got A-LOT of thumbs up at family dinner last weekend!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Qtr cup sugar
- Qtr cup water
- Knob of fresh ginger, cut into small pieces.
- Handfuls of ice
- 15ml ginger syrup
- 60ml grapefruit juice
- 30ml lemon juice
- 45ml Washhouse Citrus Gin
- 60ml soda water
HOW TO MAKE IT:
- First, make the ginger syrup, combining sugar, water, and ginger in a small saucepan over low heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes, then strain out ginger pieces and set aside to allow to cool to room temperature.
- In a cocktail shaker combine ice, 15ml pre-made ginger syrup, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and Waitoki Washhouse Citrus gin.
- Shake it like you mean it.
- Place ice in a glass, pour in the cocktail ingredients and top up with soda water.
- Garnish with rosemary.
- Stir gently before enjoying.
